Website maintenance in Minneapolis

Most Minneapolis websites we are asked to look at were built once, three to six years ago, by a freelancer, a cousin, or an agency that has since changed its name. The site still loads. The hours on it are from before the last move, the plugin list has eleven items nobody recognizes, and the contact form forwards to an inbox someone stopped checking in 2024. We are fifteen minutes down Highway 100 in Edina, and keeping sites like that right is a large part of what we do.

Keeping Minneapolis websites right

Minneapolis is a city of small operators, and small operators do not have a web person. The clinic on Lake Street, the masjid in Cedar-Riverside, the venue in Northeast, the nonprofit in Camden all have the same arrangement: the site belongs to whoever last touched it. We built the sites for Dar Al Qalam Center and Amaal Event Center here, and in both cases the real work started after launch: iqamah times that move with the season, event photos, rental rates that change before engagement season. A care plan puts one person on that for a fixed monthly price, with your office still able to post the urgent things itself.

What Minneapolis sites go stale on first

Hours, including holiday hours, that no longer match the Google Business Profile. A Somali or Spanish page that was translated once and never updated when the English changed. Event galleries that stop in 2023. Staff pages with people who left. And the seasonal pages that carry a whole year: Ramadan and Eid for a masjid, Give to the Max Day on November 19 for a nonprofit, January to March for a venue, the lottery window for a school. Those are the pages we put on a calendar in month one.

Security is the quiet part

Most small Minneapolis sites run WordPress with a theme and a dozen plugins that were current on launch day. Plugins are where the holes are: Patchstack counted more than eleven thousand new WordPress vulnerabilities in 2025, nine in ten of them in plugins. An unpatched site eventually gets found by a script, not a person, and the result is a Google warning, a browser block, or visitors redirected somewhere unpleasant, usually discovered by a customer. On a plan the software is patched weekly after a backup, the site is scanned daily, and if something gets through we restore and clean it at no extra charge.

Close enough to come by, set up not to need to

For onboarding we will meet at your building if it helps: it is easier to inventory logins and photograph a space in person. After that the work runs on email, a shared folder, and a monthly report, which is faster for everybody. Our office is at 4951 W 77th St in Edina, off Highway 100 near I-494, fifteen minutes from downtown and about the same from Lake Street, Cedar-Riverside, or Northeast.

What a plan does

Every week, month, quarter, and year

The same checklist for every site on a plan, written up in a short monthly report so you can see it happened.

  1. Every week

    • Core, plugin, and theme updates, applied after a backup and checked afterward
    • Security scan, firewall log, and failed-login review
    • Uptime and SSL certificate checks, with the alert going to us
    • Spam cleanup in forms and comments
  2. Every month

    • Your content posted: news, events, calendar, staff, photos, prices, documents
    • Every form submitted and the notification email confirmed to arrive
    • Broken links and 404s found and fixed
    • A short report: what changed, what we fixed, what we noticed
  3. Every quarter

    • Speed measured against Core Web Vitals; oversized images and scripts trimmed
    • Accessibility pass on new pages, images, and PDFs
    • Google Business Profile compared to the site field by field
    • Analytics review: what people searched for, which pages they left from
  4. Every year

    • Domain, SSL, hosting, and plugin licenses renewed on time, in your name
    • A full restore from backup, tested on a staging copy
    • Content audit: stale pages archived, rewritten, or redirected
    • Every login inventoried and handed to you in writing, again

FAQ

Website maintenance in Minneapolis

Our Minneapolis site was built by someone else. Can you take it over?

Yes, and that describes most of the sites on our plans. We start with a free thirty-minute look, then a full backup and a written inventory of every login before we change anything. Sites we did not build usually need a few hours of cleanup first, out-of-date software, a lapsed certificate, a form that does not send, and we quote that in writing before the first month starts.

What does website maintenance cost in Minneapolis?

The Minneapolis agencies that publish care-plan prices, read in October 2026, run $50 to $100 a month for updates and backups alone, $149 to $474 for plans with one to two hours of content work, and $749 to $850 for four to five hours. We do not publish a rate card: you get a fixed monthly price in writing after a free look at the site, and it is the same whether you are in Minneapolis or Moorhead. Hosting and the domain stay in your name and on your card.

Can you keep our Somali, Spanish, or Oromo pages updated too?

Yes, with one honest condition: we post translations, we do not produce them. When the English hours, programs, or application page changes, we flag the matching pages in the other language, post the translation your staff or translator provides, and keep the language switcher pointing at the right place. A translated page that quietly drifts out of date does more harm than an English-only one, so this is on the monthly checklist.

Do you host the site?

No, and that is deliberate. Hosting stays in an account in your name, we manage it, and if your current host is the problem we move you to a better one on your card. The most common emergency we are called into in Minneapolis is a business locked out of a site a former vendor still controls. We set things up so that cannot happen to you with us.
